A baptism is a sacrament signifying initiation into the Christian Church. Water is sprinkled on the forehead of the person being baptized, while they are baptized "in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." It is a public affirmation of faith, open to both infants, children, and adults, and is celebrated within our regular worship service. While a baptism is the initial step into the Christian faith, Confirmation is a subsequent step where those baptized as infants make an adult profession of faith and renew their baptismal vows. Confirmations are typically offered once a year by a bishop. If you are interested in being baptized or confirmed at St. John's, please contact the church office to arrange to speak with a clergy member for more information.
